Nepalnews.com Security forces allegedly kill a young woman, elderly dies in a blast

Security forces in far-western district of Kailali have allegedly killed a 19-year-old, Janaki Chaudhari, when they were pursuing rebels after a shootout. Janaki was returning home after attending sewing training classes when she was caught in the crossfire.

After being injured, Janaki tried to protect herself by hiding inside the toilet of a house. Kantipur daily reported citing eye witnesses that the security men took her out of the toilet and killed her brutally.

Chief of army barrack at Attariya, Colonel Ram Krishna Karki, said he would probe into the incident and make it public after the security personnel on patrol return to the barrack.

In a separate incident, an elderly person, Bharuwa Chaudhari in Munuwa VDC in the same district was killed when a bomb, tied to the body of a woman killed by the Maoists, exploded on Thursday.

The woman killed by Maoists is said to be one of their former comrades.

Three others were injured in the incident. The incident occurred as the
villagers tried to take the body to a hospital for postmortem as directed by police in Tikapur, reports said.
